Privacy Policy
Last updated 26 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data quant.trading collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
quant.trading (quant.trading and trade.quant.trading) is run by quant.trading (business registration pending; its registered name and address will be listed here once it completes). We are the controller of the personal data described here. To contact us about privacy, message the quant.trading team in the app's chat.
What we collect
When you request access
- Your email address, and the reason you give if you fill in the "why" box.
- Details your browser sends with the request: your IP address, browser and device (user agent), browser language, the page you came from, and the country our network provider (Cloudflare) reports for your connection.
- To review requests and stop spam, we look up the approximate location (city and region) of the IP address with an IP location service (ipwho.is).
When you have an account
- Account details: your name, email, password (stored only as a one-way hash), and if you add them a username, profile photo and the kind of user you are (investor, trader or researcher).
- Sign-in security: the IP addresses and browsers used to sign in to your account, failed sign-in attempts, and a "trusted device" cookie. When you choose a password, its first five hash characters are checked against the Have I Been Pwned list of leaked passwords; your password itself never leaves our server.
- What you create: canvases, scripts and algorithms, notes, paper-trading accounts and orders, chat messages, news posts, Shop listings, uploaded pictures and files.
- Payments: if you buy a plan or credits, Stripe collects your card details. We never see or store your card number; we keep your Stripe customer ID, your plan and its status.
- AI features: what you type or say to the assistants, and the content they work on, is sent to the AI provider that answers it (see below). Voice recordings are sent for transcription and are not kept.
When you visit any page
- For each page opened we record the IP address, browser, device type, the page's path, the site you came from, your account if you are signed in, and the country Cloudflare reports. We use this to run and secure the site and to count visits. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Live trading
- The Live tab on the Trading page talks to Hyperliquid directly from your browser. The trading key it creates is kept only in your browser and never sent to us.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (EU/UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Reviewing your access request and emailing your sign-up link | Steps you asked us to take before a contract |
| Running your account and the features you use, taking payments | Performance of our contract with you |
| Keeping accounts secure, preventing spam, fraud and abuse | Our legitimate interest in a safe service |
| Counting and understanding visits to the site (server records only, no trackers) | Our legitimate interest in running the site |
| Keeping tax and payment records | Legal obligation |
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers to run quant.trading. They process data for us under their own terms and data-protection agreements:
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Render | Hosting the app, its database and uploaded pictures |
| Cloudflare | Network delivery and protection from attacks |
| Stripe | Payments and subscriptions |
| Resend | Sending email (sign-up links, sign-in codes) |
| Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI | Answering AI requests and transcribing voice |
| ipwho.is | Approximate location of IP addresses, for access review and account security |
Things you choose to make public, such as a shared canvas link, your name or username on the leaderboard, in chat or in the Shop, are visible to other people according to your Privacy setting. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where EU or UK law applies, transfers rely on adequacy decisions (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Page visit records: 180 days.
- Failed sign-in records: 30 days.
- Access requests: while the beta is running, so we can tell you when you're approved. Ask us and we delete yours.
- Your account and what you create: until you ask us to delete your account. Payment records: as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California law), you can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, get a copy to take elsewhere, restrict or object to how we use it, and withdraw any consent you gave. Message the quant.trading team in the app's chat and we will answer within one month. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. If you are in the EU or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Cookies
We use only the cookies and browser storage needed to sign you in and remember your settings. See the Cookie Policy.
Children
quant.trading is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell account holders by email about significant changes.
